Sophie Chmiel is a German-Australian actor. She was born in Germany and grew up in Australia and Malaysia, and speaks both German and English as her mother tongues.

She is known for her role as Thalia in the feature film Flights of the Reverie (available on Amazon Prime), as well as for portraying Kira in the German television series Lenssen Hilft (Sat.1). She has starred in a range of short films, including Longer Nights, which was selected for the San Francisco International Film Festival. Her commercial work includes campaigns for the NFL on RTL, ZDF, WERO, and Babbel.

Sophie also works in voice acting. She played the lead role in the fiction podcast Cassette Diaries on Spotify and has recorded immersive audio stories for the Landesbühne Sachsen.

She received her BA in Acting with first-class honours from the Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology in 2022, and currently continues her training at the Tom Todoroff Studio.

She has additional bases in Munich, Sydney and Kuala Lumpur.

Outside of acting, Sophie is a big history enthusiast, her favourite sports are football/soccer and hiking, her favourite hobby is photography and she loves animals, especially chickens!
